Thought you all would enjoy!

Have any of you read this poem before? After reading it about 5 times I think I get it. Hehe

I Am My Own Grandpa

Many, many years ago
When I was twenty three
I got married to a widow
Pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown up daughter
With flowing hair of red,
My father fell in love with her
And soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law
And changed my very life.
Now my daughter was my mother,
For she was my father's wife.

To complicate the matters worse
Although it brought me joy,
I soon became the father
Of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became
A brother-in-law to dad,
And so became my uncle,
Though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle,
Then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown up daughter,
Who of course was my step-mother.

Father's wife then had a son
Who kept them on the run,
And he became my grandson
For he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mother
And it makes me blue.
Because although she is my wife,
She's now my grandma too.

If my wife is my grandmother,
Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it
It simply drives me wild.

For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw,
As the husband of my grandmother,
I am my own grandpa!

WOW!

Time really flies when you are having fun! The wedding was beautiful! I thought I could get through the wedding without crying but..... well, you know. The part that really made me cry was their vows. They were beautifuly written. Their first dance was so sweet. AND... also their first kiss. The look and Jeremy's face was so.... umm shall we say incredible. Wish I could tell you all more, but I have to go. Maybe next time I will put up some pictures!

The Worship of Tears

I read this and I thought you all would enjoy. I got this from Michael Cards ministry.

The Worship of Tears

1Six days before the Passover celebration began, Jesus arrived in Bethany, the home of Lazarus--the man he had raised from the dead. 2A dinner was prepared in Jesus' honor. Martha served, and Lazarus was among those who ate with him. 3Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard, and she anointed Jesus' feet with it, wiping his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance.
4But Judas Iscariot, the disciple who would soon betray him, said, 5"That perfume was worth a year's wages. It should have been sold and the money given to the poor." 6Not that he cared for the poor--he was a thief, and since he was in charge of the disciples' money, he often stole some for himself.

|| John 12:1-6 || NLT ||

We always find her at His feet. In Luke 10, she receives a scolding from her sister for sitting at Jesus' feet. In John 11 she collapses at His feet when He comes to deal with the death of her brother Lazarus. In the passage above, she is there once more, wetting His feet with her tears. And finally, after the Resurrection of Jesus, we see her holding onto Him for joy. Though there is no specific word about His feet, when Jesus says, "You don’t have to hold on to me, I haven't ascended to my Father yet," I believe John assumes we understand that she has fallen once more and is clinging to His feet.

We sometimes speak of worship as "coming to the feet of Jesus," but we don't tend to bring what Mary brought as her offering. In Luke, it is her curiosity and willingness to learn. At the death of Lazarus, it is her disappointment she brings. At the supper, her sorrows are what she has brought, along with the perfume. And finally in the garden, it is first her confusion and then her relief.

Wouldn't you like to be known as the person who is always at the feet of Jesus? Look at what Mary brought. Look now at what you have to bring.

This is oh so cool!

You are Eliza Bennett from Pride and Prejudice! Yay, you! Perhaps the brightest and best character in all of English literature, you are intelligent, lively, lovely-- in short, you are the best of company. Your only foibles are that you stick with your first impressions... and your family is quite intolerable.

This is cool...Except for the family part! I thank God I do not have a family like Miss Bennet!

Happy birthday Jane!

Dear Readers,

This time of year has come once again! My dear sweet sister Jane turned (sweet)16 Saturday! My how the time flies. I used to think I would never grow up, but that is not the case. I wish I could go back to those years when we all were little and care- free! Now since I am older Mom has all these things for me to do that older people do! Hehe (ok I am not that old) Anyway I am getting off my subject. I was just remembering one day when Jane and I decided that we were officially WOMEN. So at supper that night Jane and I told Mom that because we were older(by a few hours)we should not have to sit on the bench. That was for little people.

Mom's reply, "As long as I say so you both will sit on the bench!"

Jane and I pouted the whole supper. Mom was being so cruel to us. We sat on the bench for a long time after that much to our dismay. Now we are officially women (since we sit in chairs)!

I could share some really embarrassing stories about how....... You used to always be the one who decided what we played and what parts we played. When we were playing animals You always-always-always were the person and Judy and I had to always be the dog or you would not play.

Or the times......... you always made me be the guy when we played house!
or the times......... When you sneak food and Janessa and I say " Jane does it taste good?"

Jane, "How did you know?"

Janessa or Joanna "Because you have it all over your shirt!"

Jane still does that to this day! hehe

Or the time.......... when you had a big crush on someone and you would ask me.

Jane "Was he staring at me during church?"

Me" I was listening to the preacher like any good Christian person should do!"

Jane "Really Joanna please tell me!"

Me "Jane you are only 9. Marriage is a long way off!"

Jane "Joanna, don't be ridiculous, please tell me!"

Me " Ok then, no! he was looking at the preacher like everyone else!"

Jane "I was afraid of that!"

Ok I will stop with all the stories for now.

If you all want to you can put a comment on my blog to wish Jane a happy birthday.......I know she would love it!

I will Sing!

This song has been in my head these past couple of days,so I thought I would share.
Have you all heard this song before?

I WILL SING!

Lord You seem so far away
A million miles or more it feels today
And though I haven't lost my faith
I must confess right now
That it's hard for me to pray
But I don't know what to say
And I don't know where to start
But as You give the grace
With all that's in my heart

Chorus:
I will sing I will praise
Even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing I will praise
Lift my hands to honor You
Because Your Word is true
I will sing

Lord it's hard for me to see
All the thoughts and plans You have for me
But I will put my trust in You
Knowing that You died to set me free
But I don't know what to say
And I don't know where to start
But as You give grace
With all that's in my heart

Chinese Proverbs - I love them!

Do not remove a fly from your friends forehead with a hatchet.

If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.

A book is like a garden carried in the pocket.

The senility prayer

God, please grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones that I do like
and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Exercise program

Here's an exercise program to stay in shape this year. You might want to take it easy
at first, then do it faster as you become more proficient. It may be too strenuous for
some.

ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING ANY EXERCISE PROGRAM.

NOW SCROLL DOWN...

NOW SCROLL UP...That's enough for the first day!

Thought you all would enjoy!

I found these off of a website. So as the post says I thought you all would like these.:-)

A prayer for the day.

Dear God,
So far today, I've done alright.
I haven't gossiped, and I haven't lost my temper.
I haven't been grumpy, nasty or selfish, and I'm really glad of that!
But in a few minutes, God, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on, I'm
probably going to need a lot of help.
Thank you!
Amen
